Highlights
Our vacations strike the perfect balance between culinary excursions, hands-on cooking experiences, and outings to those special ‘hidden treasures’ and little-known corners of Italy.
- We’ll cook together at a villa in the countryside, then share our meal in classic Italian style
- We’ll visit local farms and cheese producers, as well as sample wines and regional delicacies at a winery under the expert guidance of our sommelier
- We’ll visit compelling ‘art cities’ such as Urbino, San Leo or Gradara as well as charming medieval villages under the guidance of certified bilingual guide
- We’ll enjoy a procession of Fiat 500s on a drive through the Romagna countryside
- We’ll eat at small local ‘typical’ restaurants, places the locals know about and patronize
- We’ll have the opportunity to watch a “Bel Canto” performance
- We’ll make our own pizza with an Italian pizzaiolo
- We’ll follow in Fellini’s footsteps in the amazing city of Rimini
Since we live here ourselves, we know each restaurant, each producer and vendor personally and with a maximum of twelve, we are welcome guests at small farms and businesses, very often family run, where the owners are eager to share their knowledge and expertise.
Description
Come join us for unforgettable tastes, hands-on experiences and the opportunity to live the traditions that make Italy so special and so enduring. You and your fellow travelers will come to know firsthand the food, wine, history and people of this special part of Italy: Romagna.
Situated between the sparkling Adriatic Sea and the hills of Tuscany, Romagna boasts not only a fascinating history but is widely regarded as the cradle of Italian culinary tradition. You’ll be based in the heart of a medieval town, Santarcangelo di Romagna. Your historic 4-star accommodation is located just a stone’s throw away from the lively town center where you can stroll the narrow cobblestone streets and enjoy shops and city markets.
There will be authentic “hands-on” cooking lessons where we will prepare our 4 course lunches, and other lessons where, for example, we will learn to make the real Italian pizza! When we aren't cooking, we'll be meeting local specialty producers, visiting wine cellars, olive oil mills and award-winning cheese makers, or we’ll be visiting enchanting small art cities and medieval villages.
This vacation strikes the perfect balance between culinary excursions, hands-on cooking experiences, and outings to those special ‘hidden treasures’ and little-known corners of Italy. We’ll also have the opportunity to watch a “Bel Canto” performance, and have occasion to enjoy an exciting drive through the countryside with the iconic Fiat 500s. It’s a week of sophisticated fun, experiencing everything that makes Italy so special. Come then and discover the Italian in you.
LOOK AT WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT US
“It was perhaps the best decision of our trip! Ramona and her Team greeted us promptly that first morning and we were treated like Kings from that point forward. The guides were knowledgeable, professional and personable. Our tour traversed sprawling countryside, medieval villages and historic landmarks along the way. Interspersed throughout the days were lunches, dinners and wine and cheese tastings that left our bellies full yet yearning for more. I cannot thank Ramona and our "friends" at Buonjourney Italy enough for helping to make our experiences in Italy so memorable.” Michael R., Florida “We loved this region for an authentic Italian experience with the addition of getting a sense of the pride of the people and local flavors. We will return for sure. We would highly recommend Buonjourney Italy if you want to see the best that Italy has to offer.” David L., Charlotte USA
