Foundation Montforte Artist in Residence Program/ Art Classes

Join our Artist in Residence program. We provide free accommodation to selected artists for a two week stay in Garessio. Paint and sketch this charming village located near the Italian Riviera, the Langhe wine region and a short drive to Nice and Monaco. Sign up for an art class provided by visiting artists.

We have created a special place for people who find us. A place that you can relax, take time to enjoy the food and wine and walk or cycle through the valleys and mountains surrounding Garessio. We are well off the tourist trail so you will experience what it is like living in an Italian village.

You will not find designer shops, tour buses, night clubs and menus in English. You will find an authentic experience for the slow traveller and a place to do your art or crafts.

The Ligurian Alps are at your doorstep for walking and cycling. The Mediterrean Sea is forty minutes away. The famous UNESCO world heritage Langhe wine region is twenty minutes away. You can visit Monaco, Nice , Genova and the Cinque Terre with a day trip. Or you can relax in the peaceful and welcoming village of Garessio.
