Any day in Florence is a delight, but the next three days will be especially sweet with the Firenze Gelato Festival in town for the second year.
From 25-29 May 2011, Italian ice cream makers will take over Piazza Pitti and Piazza della Repubblica.
Over 30 gelato-makers from all over Italy will take part in the festival, as well as gelaterie throughout Florence.
A tasting card good for five samples will be on sale for €7,00. The card will be accepted at stands in the piazza and participating Florence shops so that festival goers can try a range of specialty flavors.
Visitors will also be treated to special demonstrations and a chance to create their own flavors in the gelato laboratory.
