In front of Milan's cathedral, a very different type of music has been playing this month: Indian techno-pop, courtesy of the Bollywood film Ajab Gazabb Love (Strange and Wonderful Love) shooting in Milan.

The squares in front of Milan's cathedral and the historic Teatro della Scala form the background for the film's love scenes, as the wealthy young protagonist brings his love interest, a difficult girl who prefers men that are poor but handsome, on a romantic Italian vacation to woo her.

Beginning at dawn on the 5th of June, the Pooja Entertainment & Films production team brought the full spectacle, theatricality, and ostentatiousness of Bollywood cinema to Milan, filming a massive song and dance number in front of Milan's 14th-century cathedral.

Ajab Gazabb Love is the first Hindi-language film shot in Milan. The director, Sanjoy Gadhvi, told La Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, "We needed a beautiful square, and we chose Milan."
