A recent survey from tripadvisor.it amongst French, Spanish and English travelers revealed that Italian is considered the most romantic language.

31% of French, 15% of Spaniards and 23% of British think that Italian is the most sensual, romantic accent - making Italian the most sensual overall.

Second position is reserved to French and third to Spanish.

When asked which were the Italian cities that inspired a romantic affair Rome wins with 18% while Venice is second with 10%, followed by Florence with 9%.

Of course, we know that Italian and Italy are the best language and place to fall in love with, but it is nice to know that many others agree!

Below is a clip from the film "Il Postino" (The Postman) - a wonderful example of how the Italian language can be used for romance and passion.
