AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani on Wednesday rubbished reports that Milan was pushing for a new European 'Superleague'.

''It's completely untrue, we're in touch with the European authorities and (UEFA President Michel) Platini and we've never spoken about it,'' Galliani said, denying a report in Tuesday's edition of France Football.

''It's a hoax, just a little early for April Fool's Day''.

''I read that Milan was among the supporters of the plan and Bayern Munich supposedly against it but it isn't true, we've never pushed for it''.

Galliani noted that the media rights for the next three years of the Champions League had already been sold and ''therefore a change is unthinkable''.

France Football on Tuesday said Platini had softened his longstanding opposition to the Superleague and was ready to talk to clubs, including AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United and Barcelona, who were reportedly interested in the idea.

It said the clubs saw the new league as a way of easing the effects of the recession, calculating that it would have ten times the paying power of the Champions League and the UEFA Cup combined.
