Architects give Florence airport a new lookBrtish abnd Italian firm win restyling contract - English and Italian architects will work together to give the Amerigo Vespucci airport in Florence a new look.

Following an international competition, airport management company ADF instituted the architectural project for the exterior design.

The winning proposal came from a temporary collaboration between Pascall and Watson Architects Ltd. and Ausglobe Formula Spa.

Together they will receive 250,000 euros and will take on the artistic direction of the project, supervision of the design phase and the construction.

The winners have significant experience in the design of large public infrastructure.

The firm dates back to 1965 and their collaboration with the British Airport Authority with numerous redesign, restructuring and development projects at the Stansead, Gatwick and Heathrow airport, where they designed terminal 5, the largest terminal in Europe.
