Larino (Molise)

Larino is a town and comune in Molise, province of Campobasso, southern Italy. It is located in the fertile valley of the Biferno River. The old town, seen from the mountains, is shaped like a bird's wing. The new town, called Piano San Leonardo, is built on a mountainside. Noteworthy are the historical testimonies of epochs, especially Roman times, with archaeological sites of great interest such as the amphitheater, the spas, the hole and mosaics of medieval times such as the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral dedicated to the Saint Patron Saint Pardo, the Ducal Palace, now the seat of the Civic Museum, the Municipal Library and the historical archive, the museum and the Diocesan archive all inside the Bishop's Palace, the Convent of the Cappuccini brothers and some palaces and noble villas of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. The city has many fairs and festivals, notably those of San Primiano and of San Pardo. These include parties and religious processions.

What others are saying about Molise

I'm registered as an Italian living abroad under A.I.R.E. and receive vote by mail ballots every so often to vote in Italian national elections.

@S.p asks:

Hi all,

I am asking a question that has been asked, no doubt, many times. I plan on getting the ferry to Cherbourg from Ireland in June and travelling to Molise. I will have 2 children and a dog for company. Any advice on routes, stop overs, etc. would be gratefully appreciated.

Dealing with paying bills continues to befuddle. I just received a water bill for my house from a bill paying company hired by my comune. This company is known as PagoPa. Because I'm not in Italy full time, the only option I can use is paying by credit card.
