Snow in Rimini

With much delay, winter seems to have finally arrived in Italy, just in time to welcome the new year.

For the week ahead, meteorologists are predicting very cold temperatures, dropping as low as 10 degrees below zero C in the north, snow in the mountains, and even along the Adriatic coast, especially Marche, Abruzzo and Molise, and in northern and eastern Sicily.

Abundant snowfalls are predicted for today, while tomorrow, January 1, the Arctic chill will see mostly clear skies. Winds will remain strong and temperatures low, but it will be sunny almost everywhere.

The weather is expected to stay sunny and cold through Sunday.
