Dining with Michelangelo's David

The lucky diners who enjoyed dinner inside Florence’s Gallery of the Academy while admiring up-close Michelangelo’s David are members of the non-profit association Lions Club - Florence chapter.

The occasion was the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Il Bisonte, an international school based in Florence specializing in the study of graphics art and printmaking.

Lions Club did not even have to pay too much for the experience: because it is a non-profit organization, they were able to take advantage of a reduced rental fee, which in this case was 2,600 euro.

This is part of an ongoing trend in Italy, where museums rent out their spaces for private events in order to make up for the continued cuts in government funding.
