Word of the Week: BENVENUTO

Our Word of the Week series continues with the word BENVENUTO (welcome in English) as you will always be welcome to Italy and, especially, to ITALY Magazine.
This is one of those words that need to be adapted according to the gender and number, so:

You will say Benvenuto to a man and Benvenuti to a group of people.
Benvenuta to a woman and Benvenute to a group of women.

Benvenuto is also the title of a song recorded by Italian singer Laura Pausini for her studio album Inedito.  It was released to mainstream radios in 2011 and debuted at number one on the Italian singles chart. It was later certified platinum by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry.
So what better way to practice than singing along Laura Pausini...
