Hi folks,I have just discovered the 'Elective Residence Visa'. It looks like I meet the conditions for obtaining one. I have two questions:1 How many times can you renew a 'permessi di soggiorno'? It's my intention to remain in Italy for an indefinite number of years.2 As I would have no income in Italy, would I be classed as UK tax resident? I do not want to become a fiscal resident in Italy as it would double (at least) my tax bill.I look forward to hearing from anyone who knows about this visa. Many thanks, James

Jaime , no problem in renew , more , as EU citizen ( before Brexit) you do not receive "permeso di soggiorno" , but only EU citizen residence -more info at , the following link ,http://www.lifeinitaly.it/Inglese/italyresidenceguide.htmdo not stopo page reading at first lines .. but continue and click on the links, you'll find an answer, even to the questions you didn't think you had to doUgo, by Lifeinitaly.it

Ugo,Many thanks. If I read the double tax convention correctly ,annuity income would not be liable to Italian tax. I'll see what my lawyer has to say.James
