Casa Grazia is a lovely 100 sqm modernised apartment with panoramic views located in a historic stone building well maintained at the entrance to Alvito, a medieval town at the top of a hill just 90 minutes from Rome. The property consists of two apartments: one smaller with 1 bedroom living room and kitchen and another larger consisting of 1 kitchen with open fireplace 1 living room 1 bathroom and one bedroom with panoramic views of the valley and mountains of the National Park. The kitchen is located on the other side of the living room from the sleeping area and would benefit from some modernization like the rest of the property.
The two-bedroom apartment has access from the stairwell, a great opportunity to modernize at will and make the entire area of the top floor of the building exclusive. Great idea could be to allocate one of them or both as guest rooms in full respect of the taste and welcome of the Ciociaria
Restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and services in the delightful hilltop town of Alvito are within walking distance of just a few minutes. Nearby is a public street parking lot and Alvito has excellent access to the street. Rome, Naples and their respective international airports are only ninety minutes by car.
ALVITO AND CIOCIARIA
Alvito is laughing and panoramic, in the center of the Comino Valley, on the slopes of Mount Morrone. An imposing fortress overlooks the village where the medieval village stands, whose walls connect it to the Castle with its cylindrical towers. Below, on the other hand, lies the fertile valley. In fact, agriculture is still the country's greatest economic resource. Alvito has preserved a beautiful old town full of buildings and monuments of great value. Among them are, besides the Castrucci Palaces, Sipari, Ferrante, Panicali, especially the ducal palace, built in the 1500s and the municipal theater. Among the churches are that of St. Simeon in which he kept in the sacristy, a Crucifiction perhaps by Giuseppe Cesari (II Cavalier d'Arpino).
The Ciociaria is easily accessible from both Rome and Naples and their respective airports. A day of shopping in Rome is a common pastime, while an even shorter drive will take you to the lovely beaches south of Rome. Alternatively, you can drive east, and the mountains of Abruzzo National Park await you with horseback trekking in the magnificent beeps, and sparkling mountain lakes and rivers where you can swim in the heat of summer. And at the other end of the temperature, even if the Alvito itself is temperate, less than an hour's drive takes you to the winter ski slopes.
The Ciociaria remains largely a pristine gem, with beautiful landscapes and medieval towns atop the hills. A house or a second home in Ciociaria, in the hilly villages of Alvito, Arpino, Veroli, Alatri or in the gentle countryside that surrounds them, will offer you a scenario where over two thousand years of history combine with an idyllic Italian rural lifestyle, where you can still discover the "real" Italy and take time off from the crowds of the big tourist cities , while you are less than a ninety-minute journey from the centre of Rome or one of Rome's two airports.
