I vaguely remember reading somewhere about a gizmo that could be plugged in to boost wifi signal within our thick walled Italian homes - I can't remember where and failed to locate under search option as not sure what "title" to search under. Can

4 years into being self-employed and my husband's Accountant announced he should be paying INAIL. Claimed it wouldn't be very much. Just received a demand for €4,903.00 of which €1,700.00 is interest and charges going back to 2008.

It has come to my attention that I may have inadvertently misled in an earlier post. In response to a member asking for recommendations I posted not to bother contacting Michael as I had misunderstood a mail from his office.

Looking for advice/guidance on the above subject. I am planning on purchasing satellite broadband and had hoped that it was possible to use satellite dish also for TV.

Having washed guests' white bedlinen and towels I have found yellow stains (again). Unfortunatley not visible until washed then left with a creamy yellow stain. I think it is caused by the high factor creams.

I have to return a parcel to M & S (their sizing and descriptions are not so accurate recently) and having had to do this once before found it very expensive via the Post Office.  Even splitting parcel into smaller Jiffy bags (our post office

has anyone, full time in Italy, purchased a kindle?  I understand that location affects what you can download and I have been trying to establish if living in Italy would prevent my downloading amazon.co.uk books.  I do not want to be limited to I

Does anyone know where I can buy Malt Vinegar?  Wanting to pickle some of the excess crop and recipes are generally needing Malt Vinegar.  Alternatively if no one else found Malt Vinegar around here what are you using instead and how successful is

We have a very large, old, protected oak tree in our garden.  This year for the first time (or at least first time noticed) it is dropping what appears to be tiny black seeds - the size of a lettuce seed.  If you are close to the tree it sounds li

All 3 of my dogs like fruit juice ice cubes.  I discovered quite by accident having dropped one.  Harry (the fussy eater) lay on the floor and sucked/ate it as it melted.  I then gave one each to both Flynn and Jake and they just crunched them up and ate them.  Thankfully we had a fairly strong wind last night which has true to forecast blown in some cooler air.  Still hot but bearable today.

We haven't seen temperatures below 30 degrees over night for the last week.  Harry (one of our dogs) has taken to sitting in the shower and waiting for me to turn it on.  He then stays in shower for several minutes until cooled off.  The other two dogs not so keen on water are struggling - having to put fans on the floor for them.  Thankfully the forecast is for temperatures to drop tomorrow.  In our experience it always drops a good 10 degrees first week of September.  I love September :-)

We tried buying outdoor furniture in high season a few years back and not only were there not bargains there was next to no choice.  We ended up paying €800 for a small dining table and chairs!!  Since then we always buy our outdoor furniture early in the season when lots of choice and generally find IKEA have the best prices.  Having said that, I wish you luck.

I decided that I would try all the recommendations as it appeared this lot of linen was going in the bin so had nothing to lose.  Apart from Gala's suggestion I have tried everything else and although I have very white sheets and towels the stains remain.  The dogs have some more towels :-(  I suspect had the stains been obvious before the first wash then some possibly all of these solutions would have worked but as explained, stains only apparent after washed and dried and thus I suspect very firmly set.  Short of presoaking all linen and towels there appears to be no solution.  Just going to have to buy less expensive linen and towels.  Thanks everyone for trying to help. p.s. my guests had left all their sun screens (courtesy of ryanair luggage restrictions I suspect) and thus I knew the brands.  There were 3 types and I contacted all 3 (nivea, piz buin and boots).  Nivea did not respond, piz buin came back with some vague response that had little to do with the question but boots actually called and suggested I take the stained items to my nearest store for compensation - I was impressed by that - they did not realise I was not in UK having given them my English skype number on the original e-mail.

If you get stuck and don't mind a bit of a detour, just over the border here in southern Marche a friend uses one that she is very happy with.

So how did you come by Freya?  Another rescue?  We acquired another puppy back in June so now have 3 large dogs.  She was another abandoned pup, though much older than our "Sully" boys when they were dumped.  We think Flynn is about 8 months old now and we too have to get her spayed.  Vet says to do it now, others have advised us to wait until she has passed one season to ensure sexual maturity and thus prevent hormonal associated problems later.  All very confusing but I think we are going to go with vets advice as the thought of trying to keep Harry and Flynn apart for 2-3 weeks is a little daunting.  Another 6 or 7 puppies is even more daunting.  We have had friends try and convince us to take two other strays in the last few weeks.  I hate this time of year - so many dogs on the streets.  If I ever come into a lot of money then we will become an animal shelter :-) Glad you are all ok, we are too. bye for now.  K & J

Hi Simon & Jo, how are you and Bertie?   We got our extractor fans from Castorama - S.P. 259 Val Vibrata, 64010 Colonella (just off A14 towards Pescara).  They don't always have them unfortunatley - required a few visits.  Vaguely recall seeing them in Brico Io at one point, so might be worth checking there too (Grottammare store).

Hi Charlotte Our English Will was prepared by, and a copy is lodged with, a Solicitor in England.  Unfortunately the intent to marry was not in the Will as my husband had not proposed at that time.  So we could actually just copy the English Will (changing my surname) and then have it witnessed (in English) and lodge it with an Italian Notary?  It doesn't have to be in Italian or prepared by said Notary? Thanks again Karen

Thank you Charlotte, that is very clear.   We made Wills in the UK but they predate our marriage, we were just living together at that time, thus my previous name is used.  We do not go back to UK so not able to update those.  I am fairly certain that they are no longer valid as we have since married, though the content is still accurate.  Thanks again for your clarification.

I am still confused what to do if you want to dictate who your property is left to if you are British, live permanently in Italy, no assets outside italy BUT DO NOT want to leave property according to Italian law.  i.e. husband has no children, wife has child from previous marriage and on death neither party wants the husband's siblings to get anything.  Would want everything to surviving spouse, then to son/step-son on second parties death.
