Ciao,I have an appointment with the Italian Consulate in 2 weeks, I have everything I need, then I discover to my dismay that the health insurance coverage in my retirement package has changed since I retired and I no longer have insurance in Ital
I had a pellet stove installed in my house. Typical of Medieval villages, to access my home, I must first navigate very steep stone steps from the village, then 2 sets of stairs up to my living room. My street doesn't have cars.
I have just experienced my first winter in Abruzzo in the mountains. I love it here, but I did not enjoy the heating system in my house. I believe I made a mistake. My house is old.
I am asking a question for a friend who wants to move to Abruzzo. She found a house in a Village of Carpineto Della Nora. Are any of you familiar with this village? Are there amenities there? groceries, Doctors, pharmacy etc?
Someone recommended an online bank a while back and I can not find the link. I believe it was a Mr. Leli who I was to speak with. Anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated. Grazie Mille.

Greetings all who have pets in Italy. I need your help. I am getting ready to travel to the USA with my dog, and I cannot find a website or a store in Abruzzo where I can order a crate. I need a medium rigid cage with ventilation on 3 sides.

I have been living in Tocco da Casauria for 4 years now. I absolutely love it. It is near the main highway A25 and E 80. This means you can get to other places quickly. The people are welcoming and kind. There are no restaurants in town any more. There are 2 pubs that offer food, but it is hamburgers, veggies, french fries, salads, There is a pizza place, but it has an odd schedule. The main restaurant closed in 2018. But a few kilometers away is Torre de Passeri, They have a few restaurants that are charming and the food is lovely. My house is a hill house. This means there is no place to drive a car to my home. Deliveries are difficult. Pellets for my heating are difficult to get to my house. Customer service doesn't exist in Italy. FYI. I don't necessarily think of that as a bad thing, but just telling you for information. I have never been treated like an outsider here. I hope you found a home you love. Katie Dover
I will try to give you my email kdclothes@yahoo.com I hope it will post to you. I am taking precautions in Italy, We all are now. But I walk my dogs, go walking and have a coffee with friends. I live in a small village. The rumors and panic are flying around. I am more worried about returning to the US and the idiots reactions there. I plan to be back in the US on the 16th. I am only staying a week or so. Every day so many people die from the flu, starvation, cancer and other things and this virus just started and I don't know what to think. Is it man made? We have gone through enough in the last almost 4 years, have we not? The world is getting smaller and leaders everywhere find cruelty to be a better tool than leadership. I love my life in Italy. Katie
It has been almost 2 years since we were in contact. I was wondering if you ever made it to Italy (Abruzzo). I have learned a great deal about Italy since we wrote to each other. I hope you found a place you love to be.
Thank you for your asistance. I was able to get a policy written for me in Italy and I am so happy. Things always work out. Ciao a tutti
Ciao, UgoDo you know of an insurance company I can contact? I am back in the States now and I have my appointment on September 17th.. thank you Katie
Maybe the President of America should be an example and pay his debts and taxes.
Thanks for your review, but I live in a small village with no hopes of getting deliveries. I also have no car. That pellet stove was not set up and I hate it. It uses 2 -15 kg bags each day. It's an expensive way to heat. I am a small woman. I cannot drag those bags all the way up the town center steps all 30 of them and walk down a cobble stone street, then up stairs . I am looking for an alternative way of heating. I am glad you enjoy your stove. I do not.
Many Thanks.
Thank you. My house consists of about 80sm. Will Leroy Merlin carry such a thing? I have an on demand gas boiler now for my cooking stove and oven and hot water for my showers and sinks including kitchen HW.
Grazie Mille
