My husband and I have a house in umbria, near spoleto and we enjoy it very much...but apart from a few neighbors, we know no one. As this is our third summer there, we would like to meet some people, but we are stumped. How do you meet people?
My Dad was first generation Italian/American and was sent to Southern Italy (just around the corner from where his Mom and Dad came from!) during the war. He was a medical administrative officer and was attached to an Army Field Hospital in both Cherignola and Spinazzola from 1943 to 1945. I have many, many letters he wrote home during those years that I typed and put onto a disc that I can now email to people. If you are interested, I would be more than happy to forward. Also, thanks for the book suggestion...I will have to find it!
