Ciao,We are as well a young family with two boys (12 and 8 years old). We moved back to Italy last year after 15 years in London.  We live in Le Marche Region, Ancona, and we are enthusiastic to be here. Ancona has different type of University (Agrarian, Economics, Science, Engineering, and Medicine) but in one hour drive you can reach Macerata, Camerino and Urbino with a wide range of subjects. Ancona has also an airport with national, London and other European destinations. Rome and Milan are  3 hours away with a high speed train. Beaches are amazing, and the view of Mt.Conero are breath taking. Some popular sports are windsurfing, cycling horse riding and there also is a 18 hole golf club. Many people say that Le Marche is Italy in one region. It offers lovely and varied landscapes, a lot of history, art and culture across a relatively small area.  The quality of life in The Marche is very high although the price for buying and rent is still low.   I just helped a young foreign family to settle in San Benedetto (renting) without problem and they are very happy of their new life here in Italy. If you need any help or more info please contact us and we will be very happy to help you. info@fbitalianproperties.com  Good luck….Ciao Francesca

I think It will be difficult to set a direct debit (in your UK account) for your italian bills. What I can suggest is: - A  transfer ( bonifico) but it will cost each time 25 pound, if I remember correctly. - Open a italian current account.  - Find help to manage your house in Italy.....Estate agant, accountant....  Regards  Francesca  lp in any way.Regards Francesca

Hi there! !!If you are thinking of moving to Italy, please also consider Le Marche region. It's a nice region between the Adriatic and the Appenine Mountains. Full of history, nice little villages to visit and lots of activities to enjoy. Food is great and we have one of the best white wine in the word, Il Verdicchio. And the last but not the least it's much more affordable than Umbria and Toscany. I think Le Marche deserves a visit. Let me know if you need more info, happy to help. Ciao Francesca

Hi Carolyn, Why you dont also consider Le Marche Region!!! Life is great, cities are not very big but at the same time you can do a lot of activities. During summer time Macera and Pesaro have two of the most important Opera festival in Italy. Plenty of small town to visit full of history, culture and art. Beautiful countryside for a day out. Ancona has also an airport and you can reach London and other European destinations easily. Rome and Milan are  3 hours away with a high speed train. Beaches are amazing, food and wine are extraordinary. I dont know you interest but I'm sure you will fine something to fall in love with. The quality of life in The Marche is very high although the price is of apartment is low, it's easy to find a flat to rent with  small budget.  If you need any help or more information please let me know and I will be very happy to help. Good luck.

Hi Nikki,If you want to move to Italy and have decided to rent a house or buy your dream home, after 3 months you should apply for your residence in Italy. You have to register your residency with local auhorites and prove you meet conditions to stay and obtain a document confirming your right to stay.If you are resident in Italy you have to pay italian tax but there is a risk that your income may be taxed twice if your country have the right to do it.There are some usuful info in the follow web site: https://europa.eu/european-union/life/living-abroad_en If you need any help let me know we will be to happy to help. Francesca

Ciao  In September (accademinc year 2017/18) you have to enroll your daughter in  maternal school and next year (2018/19) in the primary school. You can ask to the school to enroll her directly this  year (early enrollement) in the primary but I think it is not a good choice if she has to learn a new language.http://www.indire.it/lucabas/lkmw_img/eurydice/quaderno_eurydice_30_per_web.pdfNormally the small towns, like Todi, Spoleto, Orvieto have a great primary school. More help let me know...Ciao  Francesca Fbitalianproperties
