An alternate to ENEL. For all of us that have had enough of the confusion and pricing with ENEL - there is an option.

Has anyone seen the article in the London Times today (19 Aug) about Basilicata? I don't have a subscription to their site so will need to see if I can track down a print copy.

Has anyone filed a claim for property or vehicle damage with their UK based insurance company?

SATO is simply a supplier of elecricity, they do not service any of the physical plant for the supply. Italian law allows different companies to be the provider for cost and billing while still using the transmission system of ENEL.

We have used summerinitaly.com several times and always been very pleased with the properties and the service.

It is a good idea in the off-season...not from now until December. A one lane curvy road each way with full size buses, tourists and locals clogging the route.I recommend taking one of the ferries, the view is much more spectacular and relaxing.

Kimba,I live in Basilicata. Have you spent extended periods of time in Italy, specifically Basilicata? Life here is different than in the US and unless you are prepared for this the allure of life in Italy can wear off after time for some people.Moving will also require a PdiS, unless you have Italian or EU citizenship. Bryan

Jeanne, Our experience is that many Italians prefer face-to-face confirmation versus the inpersonal aspects of email. Unless he knows for sure there is a family connection he may be uninterested in making a reply.See what you can find in your search and then plan your visit to the area where your family originates from and you may be surprised what relatives you might find living here in Italy.

In southern Italy records go back to at least 1809, some near Naple even farther back. The State Archives in Benevento would have the records between 1809 and 1865. You can find records after 1865 on-line at Family Search.org.Have you tried sending an email to Antonio? Be aware this surname is very common in the Campania Region.

The Nanetti name is heavily concentrated in the Emiglia Romagna Region so that would be the are to concentrate. The Family Search and Ancestry web-sites can also be good places to start searching. I would recommend trying to locate where/when he arrived in Mexico and go back from there.

Depends on a couple factors: Have you had insurance in Italy in the past (to be in their rating system)? What is your nationality as there may be a company in your home country that you can use with the same rating system?

If you buy it on amazon.it it is designed to be used in Italy. Amazon.co.uk won't ship most items with any type of electronics outside the UK.
