We are unsure about moving articles over there as opposed to buying when we get there, but know it will likely cost more to buy over there and be more hassle. So we want to get an idea of the cost of moving some of our stuff out there?

When you get down to detail, it will depend on your lifestyle. We have in the past went back and forward to the UK and Italy running a house in both. In general it cost us a lot less to live in Italy, but we drink a lot of wine
(I could have said grow more veg there) and it cheap in Italy. Seriously, your lifestyle will make a lot of difference, as will exactly where you end up e.g. with town gas or without, or access to a lot of free fire wood, grow you own veg, have chickens etc…
I don’t really know the answers Alan, but suspect it would be more a question of “can you get the doors and tops in Italy”. If you can (which the tops I’m sure you will) or you are prepared to import them, then I’m certain the local kitchen supplier or carpenter will/would fit them.
You will have IMU/TASI to pay until the day you become officially resident with the comune (i.e. according to the date on their letter). Note even a few day/weeks in the payment year you need to find out what is owed and pay it. They will not chase you for it, but will likely come back 4-5 years later with the addition of a hefty fine…For TARI (rubbish) it will be payable most likely before and certainly after residency. This depends on the size house, this site here is available for the calculation. It has another tab for IMU-TASI, but for that you need the rendita values from your deed of sale.

Knowing a bit more from what you have said, I would check out the tax situation if you intend to stay. Taxes are very high in Italy AND start from zero income!
A PEC address is something you would only really get for use in Italy. If you have a bank account, check with them to see if they offer a PEC email address, certainly the Post Office used to do so. Failing that, search “How to get a PEC email” (in English) and a number of results like this from Aruba will come up, there will be many more – at a cost! Modicasa on here may have a better option.For the document translation, if it is an official translation you want, then you would need to pay someone to translate it for you if no English version exists. Else try something like Google Translate Document here, but it’s never been too good for me.
Don’t know your circumstances, but if you are prepared to do so I would look at something like a longer term Airbnb on the ground where you can then ask around to get a rental. I would also do as you have here and ask on other forums if anyone wants to rent out for a short period whilst you look around.
I've not used these as a broker, but a friend did use them for a few years for their holiday home in Italy. Don't know if they still do such,but it might be worth a try.
