Well, well, well - Alan you certainly opened a can of worms but then that is better than nobody posting much at all. I don't like this forum because it takes to long to load up on every post and page so I can't be bothered.  I have found it extremely helpful and useful when I have asked for advice so I am thankful for that and without forums we would be totally all at sea on many many issues. But then I have found all the forums that I have been on all extremely helpful. Jenta, I do not know what the form of bullying was that you suffered so cannot comment personally. I have seen users of forums being very insulting and when they get it back, they accused folk of bullying them. It happens all the time. They go crying to daddy ( or mummy) and the folk that I find very interesting became barred. When I am keeping my mouth shut just wishing that the complainers would actually go away. I actually like a good debate. Also there have been teacher's pets and folk sticiking up for their friends whether their friends were right or not, instead of debating the issue at hand. People can talk for themselves. There have also been cliques no doubt about that. As somebody here mentioned already, members air their private jokes in public and that is very offputing to new members and old. It did not take much for people to be offensive and offending on this post and it has generated record responses of recent times. So obviously that is what gets folk talking. It is underused for various reasons and is, these days, quite boring. I make no apologies for my comments as I have been quiet about my feelings for a long time. If anybody takes the huff so be it. Nig, I do not find you offensive or bullying - there is a lot worse on here let me tell you. I belong to two Abruzzophile forums where many of the 'banned' are doing sterling work helping us all. why not join us,  I am sure you will be very welcome. It is too oversensitive and sanitised for here. It is certainly not as well used as it should be.

I have used Rational FX - very helpful and easy - but maybe best to shop around  and see best rates on day.

If your car is taxed until 30th Nov and will be off-road until March, SORN it on 8th Nov by Phone or online. I did this here in UK. then when I had the money to have it MOTd, I just retaxed it on that date and phoned DVLA to make sure I would be 'un SORNed'. As long as you have a valid MOT before travelling and retaxing there is nothing to stop you from not using your car in UK for as long as required ie if it was other way round and you were parking-up in UK for 6 months while you travelled abroad. The only problem for your friend is that it seems evident from posts here, that you are not allowed to be offroad without tax, Insurance and MOT in Italy, which is crazy but if it is the law of the land then....

I think somebody posted recently that M & S deliver to Italy. Not sure though.

Every one to their own. But I want to carry my water around and I don't drop it as litter. As I say there should be zero tolerance of all litter dropping. I am not in favour of banning single items when it does not alone serve to get rid of litter problems. There are lots of other things which are littering up our towns and countryside. It would also be more effective to have a meaningful waste disposal and polloution drive- down plan that encompasses taking everything and the public with you. To criminalise decent individuals for carrying their water is not the answer IMHO.

I think the petition should be about zero tolerance of dumping any kind of litter but folk have to walk around with their drinks - too draconian for me.

Thanks Capo Boi. Before liner, screed, cement, if there is penetrating water or burst underground old pipes or something, how would I detect this. Would I need to get one of those professional type gadgets that you see on building progs. They are like ex-rays and also deep torch thingy. If it is not condensation etc then best to get rid once and for all. What would you reccommend in terms of investigation?
