We bought a house in Italy last week.  After much mulling over before the signing decided to go down the route of seconda casa as whilst my husband and I will be living there permanently once it's finished I won't be a resident as I'll be coming back to the UK on a very regualr basis for work.  So paying 7/1000 of a property outside of Italy won't apply to us - but I'm curious as to how they'd know anyone had a property outside of italy and how they would know what the value was?

Looks like there will be charges for wing seats/aisle seat etc but if you don't mind where you sit then it'll be free:- http://blog.easyjet.com/easyjet-to-trial-allocated-seating/

I fly with Easy Jet a lot so not having to run the gauntlet will be bliss.  Have they said how it's going to work?

Hi Boab, I'm not sure if you've done a B & B in the UK before or even how that compares to italy. What I do know is that there are countless regulations that you have to comply with (as in all countries) just one that I know of in Italy is that you need to have all bathrooms alarmed with a pull mechanism that automatically connects to your mobile so if someone has an accident they can contact you straight away.  I'm sure there will be someone on here who has a B&B who can fill you in on the other regs so you can build these into your costings.  I know there are a few B&B people on the Expats in Italy forum one of whom at least is from the UK who can help you with specifics Good Luck

Hi Godzillavilla - I've signed up too.  We're going to be undertaking a renovation in Liguria soon too - I love your blog layout - very simple and clean (sometimes they're too messy for me to be bothered to work my way through)  was it easy to set up through Word Press? - I've never blogged but like the idea, I've looked in to it a couple of times and intend to start next year but would love to get everything up and ready to go for January - any suggestions/advice would be greatfully appreciated!
