Have you all paid the tax on your second homes either in Italy or abroad? The tax offices in Italy and the UK are collaborating and there are big fines if you don't pay and they catch you.

I do not know Sprostoni but I think if they have a feeling that something is not right which makes it for them to leave. They should express. We can learn. There is good information here but it is very slow and sometimes not helpful? This forum is only for British people. Only interested in their renovation or how to live British in Italy. I can find no reference to Berlusconi, guilty verdict. The people here are not really interested in Italy with all her beauty and her problems.

It is not possible to make a conversation here because the response is too slow. SOME are judgemental of other persons and OTHERS only post to annoy. It is not helpful or friendly if you are not in the ruling class so new people don't come. The community is like a stagnant lake, it needs fresh water and new fish. I use other fora which are better and Italian.

Your argument is flawed, all riches are relative. "to have two houses does not make the owner a millionaire" tell this to an Italian with no job, no house and no food for his children it is arrogant to expect not to pay you tax
In a world where people have not enough to eat, to have two houses is riches. . there are many British who are resident in Italy and keep a house in the UK but there are also many who claim residency to avoid the higher purchase tax but who do not here live. If the rich don't pay their taxes the poor must pay more. I pay.
