We are clean professional couple with 2 children (4 and 5) + mother in law looking to rent any accommodation in the above areas for last week in August this year (to start 22.08.09 or 23.08.09 for 5-7 nights). We are looking for a ground floor flat - house - caravan, anything within 15- 20 min walk from the sea. Please pm with any suggestions/recommendations etc, thanks!

We went on holiday to Sicily last year - spent the first week near to Cefalu and the second just outside Siracusa (to the south). As far as beaches were concerned we probably preferred Siracusa - there were a couple of really good places about 5-10 minutes drive away from the apartment that we stayed in. There were excellent facilities for children there (our daughter was two and a half at the time). We also thought that Siracusa was really interesting as a town without being too big and bustling - so again we could walk round the old town with our daughter. The archeological area was also good without being too big - so we could do that without her getting bored and without feeling that we had missed loads of interesting things.
We also managed a slightly longer excursion to Mount Etna - which our little one really enjoyed.
