Well as it happens my parents are from the village next to Semestene which is called Pozzomggiore. The whole area is very scenic and mountainous but quite isolated a car is essential. Semestene itself is a small village and there are no shops or restaurants, only a few bars to while away the hours. Pozzomaggiore itself is larger than Semestene and has a restaurant, a few shops, a museum, many restored churches, agriturismo and plnty of bars.
Bosa is a nice seaside town and is 35 mins away, it really does depend on what your interests are as to whether this holiday would be for you, it will certainly be relaxing but village life is quite monotonous and there is zero chance of anyone speaking any English.
It would probably be best to hire yourself a car and spend one or two nights in this area but i would certainly not rely on someone else to transport me.
What time of year are you planning?

I went to Bosa a couple of years ago and its a fantastic place, had a really relaxing day there.
I agree you would certainly need a car to get round the area.
Its certainly not cheap but then I suppose it is fullboard.
My biggest concern would be the lack of pictures of the accomodation but she has loads of pictures of the surrounding area.
I would personally be a little cautious with this until I had seen some internal photos.
