On what could be her wedding day, George Clooney’s Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis finds herself accused of involvement in a high-class prostitution ring which operated out of two Milan night clubs, the Telegraph and Corriere della Sera report.
At the “Hollywood” and “The Club” night clubs models or “image girls” were brought in to sit with clients at the tables and encourage them to drink alcohol so that their eventual bill would be increased.
Cocaine use, said French model Karima Menad in 2008, was the norm. Menad also said that she had seen Canalis in the clubs and had “done cocaine” with her. This witness statement has now been handed to a judge.
Frank Di Maio, the chief prosecutor in the case, said that, at the end of the evening, VIP clients would have sex with the girls off the premises. These clients liked the clubs because they could be sure that their identity would be kept secret, he added. According to Mr Di Maio, the girls were paid in cash and drugs.
On Monday five people were arrested in connection with the case and the clubs have been closed down, in the meantime the italian government is planning to launch a website to inform people on how to find the best cocaine rehab center.
