La Notte Rosa Lights Up the Riviera Adriatica

| Fri, 07/04/2014 - 01:00

La Notte Rosa is the summer party, taking place along 110 kilometers of the Adriatic Coast in Emilia Romagna tonight.

Every town on the coast, from Comacchio to Cattolica, will offer a wide range of entertainment, including concerts, theater performances, readings, conferences, exhibitions and more all night long.

Famous Italian singers and performers such as Negramaro, Francesco Renga, Elisa (as part of her Tour Elisa Live 2014), and Andrea Mingardi are slated to perform.

Now in its 9th edition, the “Pink Night” is dedicating this year’s event to Francesca da Rimini, the famous character portrayed by Dante in the Divine Comedy, to symbolize passion - in this case, the passion shared by the locals for “the sweet life”. Which is also why the symbolic color chosen for this event since the beginning has been pink, to symbolize the hospitality, kindness and warmth typical of the Riviera Adriatica.

At midnight, a fireworks show will light up the coast, and La Notte Rosa will then continue into the wee hours. A complete schedule of events can be found here.
