Mothers Day in Italy

Ciao a tutti! This is my first Mothers Day in Italy and my own mom is back home.  I'd like to do something for her that will make her feel like she's a part of my Italian life, even if it is far away. My question is: what are the traditions for Mothers Day in Italy?  Are there any special things to do for festa della mamma? Thanks!
