I completely understand your desire of wanting to live in Italy! I'm Italian and I spent 23 years abroad, the last 18 years in NYC. I have just relocated on September 1st with my American husband and my 2 American children to Lucca, a lovely small city in Tuscany we madly fell in love with. We also considered Bolzano because of the job opportunities and the good schools, but we felt a bit isolated. It's a lovely city where everyone is bilingual and has of course a strong German influence. Also, I grew up on the Adriatic Coast in Italy, right on the beach and after the cold winters of NY I didn't want to choose another winter location! Tuscany is lovely too. The schools are excellent and the quality of life also.Feel free to ask me any question! I know what you're experiencing right now and it's not an easy decision!
