International Accountant for American/Italian dual citizenDoes anyone know of an accountant who deals with dual citizens of America/Italy?  We are planning on retiring to Italy in a few years, hopefully and are trying to sort out the tax liabilities for planning purposes.

Thanks very much Ugo.  They don't need to speak English as my husband is fluent, having attended U. of Pisa so if there issomeone in particular you feel would be best, please do let us know.

Lisa , All these professionals are Italian, so you can speak to them in Italian, if it pleases you, :) ,Mr. Fabio Ceroni , accountant , works on the studio Palmeri>  http://www.studio-palmeri.it/and have office even in Rome , and in any case , in today's times, it is not so necessary to "touch" a professional. what is necessary is that he knows how to do their jobs well.

in which area do you like to settle down in Italy?I guess the Us Embassy in Milan can help youfor information regarding taxes you can refer to people already came back to Italy with double passport, there are some association here who provide general info... first thing is if you are enlisted in specific register in a municipality...that helps to find information and help in that area...

We don't need an accountant in a specific area yet as we still have a few years before retirement.  We need to speak with someone now who can help tell us what our taxes will be on our investment income, retirement plan and social security benefits.  We are doing this so that we know how much we will need each year to live on and when we will be able to do retire, partly based on how much our taxes will be.  We are already registered in the small comune where most of my husband's family comes from but I seriously doubt that they will be able to help us.
