Called "Ciao Bambolini: Italy for Kids", the DVD is targeted at young children and includes information on the Italian language and Italy’s food, art, culture and music. It aims to provide both entertainment and education, for example teaching children basic Italian vocabulary – including greetings, colours and the names of vegetables – and how to make pizza. The DVD features live characters as well as illustrations. It is the brainchild of actor and producer Michael Tassoni of Scottsdale, Arizona. He plays four characters: a cook called Luigi, an artist named Raphael, a racing-car driver called Mario and an opera-singing gondolier named Paolo. "Ciao Bambolini" is available on DVD for US$19.99 from Amazon.com.
