Off to Italy this evening, flying out of Dublin, where we live. We have a house in Northern Tuscany,in the area know as Lunigiana, really quite beautiful. Horse festival on this week-end, so plenty of fun. The weather forcast is quite bad, thunder, rain, etc., but sure we're used to that here.
So you are a poet as well as a psychiatric nurse, well done, thou have yet to see a photo of the beautiful one. Don't worry about the paranoia, it is in our nature................
Hi, While in Italy in June I was reading 'Dark Heart' and was travelling down to Florence for a few days. I too found it facinating and although a law abiding person decided that I would be terified to do even the slightest thing wrong, even a trafic violation. However remember I was in the middle of reading it and was totally absorbed. I really thought it a wonderful read but it certainly would not put me off Italy in any way. I still go as often as possible. There is corruption in every country.Thanks for all the recommendations re other italian books.
Hi Monica, Dublin is a great place with lots to do and see. Just tell your friend to go onto Dublin Tourism site and he/she will find out whats on etc., It's also a great idea to go to Wicklow, which you can get there by bus or train for the day it's really quite beautiful. Powerscourt estate is a must and you just need to get a bus from the city centre No. 44 and it will bring you to walking distance.Tell your friend that rainwear is a must.......(we are all losing the will to live with our "Irish Summer") and it is quite expensive to eat out compared to Italy, although it is getting a little cheaper.
Oh Dear Ronan, What happened now..........Thought you would be in Dublin at this time for the car race........hope the vermin have'nt eat through the roof yet......see you in Sept. for more gossip.....
Hi Browndog, I am another Dubliner, and I am losing the will to live here at the moment, with the weather being so bad. Roll on September when I am back in glorious sunny Italy.
Hi All, For those people using Ryanair from Dublin to Pisa, their flights(which are always full) have now been reduced From Nov 09 until end of March 10 to twice weekly - Wed. and Sunday. They kept that very quiet......There goes my trip at Christmas....
