Hello everyoneI'm wondering if you might be able to help? I have a rural stone farmhouse which was renovated nearly ten years ago. Our property is surrounded by farmed land (often sunflowers), and we have our own gardens and swimming pool.

I bought a derelict farmhouse in Marche several years ago. It was renovated with the services of an architect, and I obtained a certificato di agibilita when the renovation was complete. Just one thing - I seem to be missing my house number.

HelloI'm going to be able to spend one night in Ascoli Piceno during the next week or so. I would like to know if Halloween is a particularly special event celebrated in Italy, and Ascoli in particular?

HelloOur house needs a new boiler for central heating (LPG). We would like to be able to have some discussions and gain an idea of costings with an engineer as there are some aspects of our current system which we have never been happy with.

Hi allI have a house in southern marche which is rented for holiday lets. Our sun loungers are past their best and I would like to replace them for this year. Our last ones were aluminium with textoline, just not very stylish.

We have recently used the Fila products which are available locally in Italy. They are not cheap. We wanted to start with our kitchen floor as our rental property was suffering from oil and water staining on that floor. We acid cleaned it first, and then used a series of three different products as recommended. They were to repel water, oil, and then a wax finish. This took a period of four days and was hard work!! That was back in April. We have had a summer of rentals and have just been back to visit our house. We were horrified that the floor was very dirty indeed. After scrubbing twice with numerous buckets of water being used, the floor is now clean of dirt but there are still lots of spot stains of oil. We are really disappointed and don't know where to go now. This was the only floor that was this dirty (quite black really). It seems that the wax finish was holding all the dirt whereas the unsealed floors were allowing it to be swept/hoovered up.

The butcher in my local town is not in the centre but is an "aziendale". Does this mean I can go in and ask for a small amount of meat, or is this a sort of industrial size butchers? I haven't been brave enough to try and end up going to the supermarket but I imagine it would be a much better selection at the butchers. Can anyone advise? Thanks very much :o)

Our house was totally decorated in the inside using two colours that I chose from a swatch at a rather pressured site meeting with our architetto. I was able to remember the colour names to scrawl down after the meeting, but forgot about noting down the brand.A couple of years on, it looks like our house could do with a tidy up. We now have quite a tenuous relationship with our architetto and he is not being helpful with more serious matters. However, this is a really annoying issue. Does anyone know the major brands of paint available in Italy so I could have a look through to see if there is a match with our paint colour name - Ginster 120 and Granit 15.I have been to Brico but they seem to only really do a colour mixing system and don't seem to keep colours in stock.Any advice would be really appreciated.
