Hi everybody, I'm looking forward to going to our Casa in Calabria in three weeks time. I will be going on my own this time so I will have to practise my italian and do all the driving!

Hi Everybody, We had a wonderful 3 weeks at our little Casa in Calabria. For the first week we relaxed and enjoyed being in Italy. The next 2 weeks we were D.I.Y.crazy!!

When we booked our flight out to Lamezia we never expected to be mopping up rain inside our Casa!! We arrived on the sat evening and had a drink or two at our fav wine bar on the way home. We even sat outside as it was so warm.

Hi, Having just got back from Calabria and Im driving as normal here in Bournemouth,why do I have such a worry on Italian roads?? Im normaly a good and confident passenger & driver in UK but in Italy im a nervous wreck!!

Hi, We too had a hard job finding salt in our local supermarket...it was near the floor! I have now taken over low salt as its better for my other half as he uses it a lot!! Unfortunately I got searched with ryanair as they did'nt recognize the item in my hand luggage. They told me to add it to my liquids bag!!

I have to agree with you!! We always keep to the weight and size rules and are really frustrated when we see other people taking the mickey!! They never seem to get stopped or weighed either! We are going out from Stanstead on weds so we will be watching what happens.

Ive not been stung ....yet!! But they are so big compared to the ones in England. I dont know why but they always seem to come after me in our garden. Im ignored by mozzies(thank god!) but the bees are some how attracted to me!! Must be my hairspray perhaps??

Hi, We have just had the difficult job of buying a car in Calabria! We did have to show our 'certificato di residenza' to the garage owner. Luckily for us we had a very good Italian friend with us who spoke very good english! None of the cars we were shown had prices on , in fact no cars at any of the garages had prices on. We had a budget of £3.000 and did not want to go above this amount, but due to the fact that Italy is giving a 'green discount' of £4.000 on all second hand cars if you buy a new 'greener' car it was hard to find second hand cars in our price range. We found a little Lancia which we are very happy with for £2800!! I hope this info is helpfull.
