If like me, one of the few things you miss in Italy is a decent department store, in particular John Lewis, you may be interested to know that they now offer international delivery for £7-50.

Does anyone have a phone number for Telecom Italia that can be used from UK? We started trying to cancel our landline/ADSL contract with them last October - following their instructions to the letter.

After 10 years in Italy, the last 7 of which have been in Le Marche (Macerata province) for family reasons we now have to return to UK for at least a year.

I am not surprised - many salaries have not risen for years and are clearly way way behind the rate  of inflation and increased cost of living. When I was working, the nationally recommended professional fees I could charge were set in 2004 - seven years on, they remain unchanged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you go to google maps and do the 'get directions' thing, it comes up with distance and estimated timings - if no alternatives are suggested you could work back 2-3 hours from your destination, see what is around and do a lucky dip! At least with the internet it is easy to find out about towns and villages and see if anything takes your fancy. Have a great trip!

You can only print the pass from  15 days to 4 hours beforehand so it may be too early  for the return. If you are due to return within 15 days, it may seem a silly question, but do the outward and return flights have the same code? We have often booked the 2 separately in order to take a hold bag just one way - and it's easy to forget! If none above of the above applies and you have tried reprinting with no success then I fear a phone call is unfortunately necessary - probably cheaper to phone than to turn up at the airport without a boarding pass! Good luck.

I would agree with Penny and wonder if it is for a refund and is an abbreviation as below (not sure about rec, but the rest seems to fit - Rimborso di spese amministrazione rec credito (gg0) ie Refund of administrative costs credited - 0 days. If it is a bill they usually include a bollettino to facilitate payment at the PO - was one included?

I am fully aware of that and also that many Amazon items are sold via a 3rd party ie 'Marketplace' where you do pay overseas p&p. Many things on the JL site are not available on Amazon and although you are clearly not interested, there may be others who are!

.....................are now listed. As with previous winter timetables they are dropping to 4 days a week - Sun, Mon, Wed and Fri. Some of the timings are completely different (Sun and Mon I think) so easy for a 'frequent flyer' to be caught out if they don't pay attention!

re the Map Shop link: there are definitely  military maps for Le Marche listed. The site is not terribly clear as under the "see also Sicily /Sardinia' in blue,  I think it says "official maps" then  the various military options. I think the military maps are listed first and do cover Le Marche if you click "view index" then the region you can see there is comprehensive coverage. It is easy to miss as at a quick glance it looks as if the first section just refers to Sicily and Sardinia.

Military maps 1/50000 and 1/25000 are available from here: http://www.themapshop.co.uk/europe/italy/italy.htm Have never seen them so can't comment on quality/detail etc but OH who worked with the Italian military a few years ago used to comment on  how awful and inaccurate many of their maps were! Apparently, for military defensive and tactical reasons, certain things were deliberately not included - all in the name of national security !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the original post was a comment rather than a specific request for information I don't take issues when the subsequent posts digress and go off at a tangent. However, when the original post was a specific question seeking specific knowledge/information, it must be extremely frustrating and, perhaps for a new member off putting, to receive numerous replies none of which are relevant and therefore not at all helpful. Fortunately I don't think the latter happens very often.

http://www.italymag.co.uk/community/post/walking-sibillini-mountains Some of the information in the above post may help. The Kompass maps are the nearest to an OS map; as well as the ones covering the Sibillini there should also be one for your specific area.
