Spring is in the air! Everyone seems more relaxed, nature is in bloom and even at the ITALY Magazine's headquarter 'la primavera' brought about some changes and a new office mood. We simply look happier! Since the times of the Grand Tour, Italy has been not only the chosen destination for young men who wanted to explore the cultural legacy of classical antiquity and the Renaissance, but also a country to move to when wanting to escape Northern Europe's harsh winter conditions or recover from some illnesses. Many centuries later, the combination of a mild weather and rich cultural heritage is still the driving force behind many people's decision to get their 'place in the sun' in Italy. No matter the continuous political turmoil, no matter the downgrades from credit rating agencies, no matter impossible bureaucracy, every year several people decide to leave it all behind and follow their dream to move to Italy. Few years ago I was one of them. I was shot by Cupid's arrow in the spring and nothing could have stopped me from moving back to Italy after a magical visit in April. Since then, I got convinced that 'la Primavera' is not only the most romantic time of the year to visit the Bel Paese, but it is also the most 'dangerous' one as you might really fall crazy in love with the place and decide to never go back. But how could you resist running such a beautiful risk?! Someone else that runs the risk of succumbing to the pull of Italy is the newest addition to our team, Silvana Calderone our VP of Advertising at ITALY. Silvana lived in Tuscany as teenager and now lives on the Alabama-Florida Gulf Coast. We are thrilled to have her on the team - please do get in touch with her at silvana@italymagazine.com to discuss advertising opportunities.
