Buongiorno Italy readers!

November is one of the tastiest months to visit Italy (we’re thinking about all of the truffle fairs across the boot) but there is plenty to do across the country including jazz festivals and a saffron fair, enjoy our monthly roundup of the best around the boot!

Imagine kicking off your trip with a sunset boat trip around the glittering Amalfi Coast to a 13-course tasting dinner on top of an ancient watchtower, or a private guided visit to Venice's fascinating Opera house La Fenice followed by a dinner on a private terrace overlooking the Grand Canal, these are just a few of the tricks that Paul & Andrea of Luxo Italia, luxury trip planners who specialize in once-in-a-lifetime experiences, have up their sleeves.

There is probably no Italian household who doesn’t own at least one Moka machine. Because, really, there’s nothing like the smell of freshly brewed moka coffee to say, ‘buongiorno!’ So, it came as a dismay to many that Bialetti, the Italian company that invented the Moka, is at risk of bankruptcy.

"Hai la testa fra le nubs!" Let’s go over sky, clouds and angels within Italian expressions

Own something created and envisioned by an Italian artisan. New in our shop is this silver ring set with an amethyst stone. Keep in mind that items of the 'Parentesi' collection have also been conceived, designed and made by hand in a Trieste laboratory.

These three recipes are especially perfect for November, when the air is autumn crisp and pumpkins and pears are in season!

It’s not just (over)tourism to pose a threat to Italy's jewels; an increased risk of flooding and coastal erosion also contribute. Here are 15 UNESCO sites currently at risk.

This terra-cotta bottle is partially glazed in white, featuring a unique fish Majolica decoration, a lovely medieval technique that has been preserved by artisans in Italy.

Looking for a special place to celebrate Halloween’s spookiness in Tuscany? Silvia shares her favorite spot and home to a famous local legend in our latest dual-language feature.

Have you ever desired living in a place where time seems to have stopped? On the island of Sicily, this 1940’s farmhouse is for sale and has lovingly retained all of the charm of old country houses of the past.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend from Georgette, your editor, and the Italy Magazine team.
