I travelled via Belgium last week and decided to stay overnight at Dinant, where I have stayed previously and found to be marginally less bad than most towns in Belgium. To anyone contemplating a similar stop - don't.The whole of the town is being

At La Dolce Vita exhibition at Olympia this year I bought a jar of garlic cloves preserved in a pizzaiola type oil and vinegar mixture. It is just amazing for snacking, the whole cloves are really crunchy with a fairly mild flavour of the garlic an

I need to buy a tyre for my car. I googled all the usual words but came up with nothing. Back in UK I would simply go to Kwikfit, or ATS etc and it would be done on the spot.

Does anybody have a contact for a sun blind maker?Think of a conventional, rather old-fashioned roller blind with the roller fixed at the top of the window and the blind hanging vertically down.

Isn't it full of cr*p and E numbers? I'm sure it's made in a huge chemical plant, somewhere desolate. In a moment of weakness I bought some of the tuna flavoured as a short-cut topping for crostini. Dreadful, served me right. Terry

Email the best image you can find to Allposters.com and they will reproduce it for you in whatever medium and size you choose. We have a couple of really nice photos transferred to canvas - it really works well. Terry

A friend of mine picked some up from the French equivalent of Halfords at a euro each. Apparently you need two, because if you are pulled up and fail the test, you can't move the car because it now has no breathalyser. But then if your wife/husband/significant other has also been drinking, you will need a third so you can phone a sober friend to pick you up. It's enough too make you sign the pledge. TK

We used to just take pot luck on our camping holidays, staying in a municipal wherever we decided to stop for the night. You get more good ones than bad and it adds that little bit of adventure. Latterly we have done "glamping" in a folding camper (flushing loo etc) but rarely booked sites in advance. We still intend to camp around Italy with small tent and minimal kit - when we get round to it! Good for you - personally I would do my utmost to avoid those depressingly cheap and nasty motels. Answer to: Como stop over

Just by way of adding a little detail - Grandate is only a few mins from Como Sud autostrada exit, and the Iper there is terrific. It's the only supermarket where I have been able to get fresh porcini (at a mere €96 per kilo!). You can also buy a Chinese car from Iper, if you think you'd like one. As a quick stopover I guess Grandate is OK, but Como itself is just up the road and is a lovely town. Terry

Welcome to the forum vikings123. You will find people here who think it's not a good idea to be comfortably well off, not a good idea to be happily retired, not a good idea to have a completed house and not a good idea to have no problems. I know, it is a bit strange! Terry

Relax Rickardo - it's only a bit of good old British taking of the piss.........

You can always buy a policy that only covers car hire excess (Protect Your Bubble is one such company) - it only costs around £50 a year and is good for multiple hires all over the world. At least it means there's one less thing to worry about. TK

There's nothing wrong with trying to get things right - It's all part of trying to maintain standards. Not bothering to try to get things right is the main cause of declining standards. And you do insist on giving us pedants a lot of ammunition smiley. TK p.s. Flip, you'd be waiting with "bated" breath - fish hooks are "baited" - gotcha again!
