How did we feel about Michael o'Leary's view about flying through volcanic ash?  Would we be happy to fly with Ryanair as we'd have more chance of arriving at our destination, or more likely to fall out of the sky?

We are thinking of going to Sardinia for a holiday in June and wonder which is the best bit to aim for.  Have heard of Costa Esmerelda, any views on it?

Trip Report: Positano May 2009  After our adventures in Rome and Avellino Province in Campania (see previous trip reports) we moved on for the main part of our holiday, some serious chilling out on the beach.  We left our Agriturismo near Contrado

There doesn't seem to be a Campania section any more on this forum, I did a lot of research for our holiday on it....needless to say we had a great time, though got lost in Avellino every time we went there, it became our least favourite place tha

It is such hard work compared to the last forum... don't think my picture has changed despite trying a couple of times, where are the Grand Tour subject headings for different places?   Where are some of the old names, julianacol for instance, since I got back from Campania I thought we would have more to chat about...     can see this will drop off my list soon.

Answer to: In Rome

We spent three and half days there at the beginning of our holiday at the beginning of May, and then an overnight before we flew back three weeks later.I had done research and made plans, but there is so much in some ways it is good to just 'go with the flow' as you will only scratch the surface in a few days.  We started off with the 110 Roma hop on hop off bus to give an 'overview' and get an idea of geography, we did a spin round in the evening, and then had the ticket for 24 hours so the next day so could do some hopping on and off...We were staying very close to Campo de Fiore (in the Campo de Fiore hotel, which is in fact round the corner from the square - highly recommended but not cheap) so could wander around there, Piazza Navona and Pantheon etc, a good spot, and about 20 mins walk from St Peter's in one direction and the Colosseum in another, both essentials in my view.I had a small guide that fitted in a pocket which had two 'pop up' maps, an AA cityguide, which was very handy.Have a great trip!

Wasn't there talk on the old forum of having a whole separate section on Ryanair?

Wishing not to appear too thick, is this the title of the book?  I have been away for three weeks and everything on this forum has been rtransformed...    while away did call into Cassino and we drove up to the Abbey but everythign was shut for lunch... drove through Salerno a few times, and saw quite a few war memorials in small towns in Campania, one can feel there was a very dramatic story and I would love to know more.  Will try the title on Amazon.

We were climbing over the Colosseum on Saturday afternoon (boy was it getting hot then...) and the concert was being set up, apparently there were a 'few' VIPs actually in the building, and big screens outside, loads of seats and barriers there, it must have been some event.  I too would be interested in seeing any of it or a fundraising CD.

We had a lunch stop at Cassino on our way south and I idly played with my iTouch and found I was connected via an Alice unsecures site, so it has definitely reached there!
