So the first Pope to stand down; blames it on poor health (in mind and body) .... so nothing to do with the financial scandal about to hit then?

Especially for all those who would rather have a dig at each other, or feign disdain for people they don't know from Adam. Please feel free to continue the petty squabbles here; I've even given you a special place to fling shite at each other so yo

A very interesting but disturbing article, how many other Italian cities could follow, we all know it's bad here.

I think I need to get this off my chest, as it bugs me no end on this Forum/Community site. Now we all agree that this site exists for primarily the English speaking Ex-Pat community right; and by English speaking I mean just that not differing to

But Gala I don't think the Vatican would stump up if I put a claim in against St Emygdius for 'Breach of Promise' if my roof colapsed. So I'll keep my faith in Lloyds of London all the same. Thanks for the prayers though ... just hope it works.

And again last night 3.1 this time, but same area; this doesn't look good as they had several in the months leading up to the biggy in Aguila. Where did I put that insurance policy !!!!

What rubbish some people write about Italy. Most of that must be hearsay, by someone who doesn't pay taxes; as I think Italy's tax system is quite fair for new business (if you have a decent Comercialista) and as to checking  internet buying ...well really. Like I say Italy would be better off without the moaners, and expats who are determined to 'get away' with things like taxes and the like.

TBH Masca, in practice I think no one pays any attenttion to that, I know several UK reg cars that have been driving around here for 4-5 years now and even our local Police who know this don't give a monkey's.

Masca, I think that refers to a brand New vehicle that will then be permanently exported (along with Registration in another EU country) to another country. i.e. your vehicle must be at least that old before you can re-register in another country.

Masca, I know Benabbio but unless your house is a ruin already it should be OK. The tremor was quite violent (enough to shake power cables and TV aerials)  but thankfully short we felt only one small aftershock, we had just the other day finished decorating and filling in cracks in some walls, but it has opened up a few more now; but as our house is 600+ years old it has probably seen worse.
