I love technology & the old life

Well, I have arrived in La Lunigiana, my lawn is mowed, (thanks to my neighbour), I have spent a tidy sum at the shop over the road for anti "zanzare" (mosquito, stuff), went to my local bar last night 25 metres away - and it was empty, when I asked why they said Mama Africa at Gavedo was on - so I walked up to the hill top village, but got scared when I got there as it was getting dark and I had no torch, I wished I had just gone for it now, as I met one of the groups in the local hotel the day before, as I was skypeing my sister, they were practicing - they were from Marseilles. They were very good and reminded me of Django Reinhardt.I blame myself. In the future I must take a torch, there were fireflies but I dont think that is enough light.

Have you got a smartphone? I have a wonderful app on my Android phone called Brightest Flashlight, and it works both as a very powerful torch, and also as an emergency lamp. It uses surprisingly little battery power - and saves clutteing up my bag or pockets with phone and torch. I'm sure something smiilar is available for IOS.

Hi Fillide, I dont have the requirements of an advanced phone just a battery torch will do. I can leave it at the house for everyone to use, Yesterday my neighbour drove me to the Mama Africa festival, I had a good time, met a couple of blokes, share dinner and wine with them and listened to the rythms. Had a bit of a dance, and then walked back down to my house. A good time had by all. Apparently that festival is only in 3 places in Europe, it was like line dancing for African music, but it was a nice feel, and they did cheap food. People were learning to play the drums.   I didnt meet the musicans I had met at the hotel - I think their big night was Saturday, but I did cycle up to the hotel this morning for a skype call, and had 3 lovely big cups of tea, tea is sooooo refreshing. Had my free internet as agreed with the owner, and then biked back home, popping into the local B&B, to chat with them, they were off to Padua for the day. LEft them to it and came home. And boy - do my bones ache now. Popped over to the shop  - got some chilled beers and now taking it easy.

Hi, I am on 3G, it cost me 19€. I went to lucemania in Aulla, I told him where I lived, and he said you need 3 for your location. And now I am getting speeds of 1Mbs download, forget TIM, I can actually watch youtube, yet to test out skype.
