On a study abroad trip to Taormina with my high school students, we hiked down to the beach to see Isola Bella in the pouring rain. Once we arrived at the beach, it stopped raining and this beautiful rainbow appeared as we walked through the water to visit Isola Bella and go on a short boat ride.

The last remaining historical wind powered sea water pump used to fill the the salt ponds in Trapani Sicily.

One of the purposes of our visit to Sicily, was to fine the birthplace of my wife's grandfather. We found the home which is still occupied by her family. Great and wonderful time.

Far from the madding crowd? not entirely but soooooooo relaxing, Como is easy to get to offers everything for a perfect vacation.

As we were leaving a winery, I saw the poppies sprawling done the banks of the hill and it made me smile.
