12134 A poem for those who sleep

[SIZE=4][I][B]SILENTLY THE HUNDREDS SLEEP

Raymond J Warren
Brisbane April 2009

From the dust, the sun had risen,
To face a land badly driven.
The earth hath shaken in the night,
Now many lie within Gods sight.

Can you hear a plaintive calling
From the rubble lying there,
Can you see the houses falling,
Have you seen a dying stare?

Do you understand the heartache,
Of the mothers of the dead.
Can you feel a heartbreak,
For they who died upon their bed.

Sadly we will miss them,
They who'll not grow old,
But for ere we will remember,
For their story hath been told.
