Today we wish Happy Independence Day to our friends in the US with a special feature dedicated to Italian-Americans in Los Angeles. A few months ago we got really excited when we found out that the project to create the Italian-American Museum of Los Angeles (IAMLA) was getting closer and closer to its completion date and slated to open late this year. So we went to interview IAMLA Executive Director Marianna Gatto, a passionate historian of Italian American history in California, who helped us understand the history and importanance of the contributions of Italians to the development of Los Angeles and the state of California in general.
