This week we celebrate International Women's Day and want to take this occasion to thank our female readers and all the 'donne' working to make ITALY Magazine successful. Italian women are facing important challenges, they are among the first victims of the current economic crisis, and we think there is no better moment to remember those who can be a source of inspiration with special features and stories. I thought about the women I looked up to when growing up, the list is thankfully endless and it obviously starts with my grandmothers and my mom. In the late 80s, when the 8th of March had become the day to go out with your girlfriends, leaving your husband and kids at home, mom used to tell me that there was nothing better than celebrating her womanhood with my dad and I. 'I CAN go out with my girlfriends whenever I want!' she explained. Years later, I understood the power of her message and still thank her for the example she set. Auguri a tutte le donne del mondo.
