Yeap, there are quite a few places out there.

I was in Varenna in 2018. It is a short ferry ride to Bellagio, which is wonderful but crowded. Rick Steves states that Varenna is his favorite place on Lake Como. You can rent a villa with a lake view, wander to the piazza, shop and eat at memorable places! I will go back. Enjoy your trip!

I stayed in Varenna at Lake Como which was fantastic!  It is a quick ferry ride away from Bellagio - which is much more crowded and very hilly.  Rick Steves recommends Varenna, so that is why we stayed there and rented a villa with a view of the lake and mountains.  There is a lovely piazza, great shops and restaurants on winding streets leading to the lake.

There are two fantastic hotels also - even to visit for lunch or a cocktail.  Hotel Royal Victoria is at the piazza with fantastic views of the lake and a great outdoor bar.
