I have written a biography about Francis of Assisi, titled "A Mended and Broken Heart, the Life and Love of Francis of Assisi," which the Franciscan community has enthusiastically embraced. (You can buy the book here.)They have invited me to speak to the community about it this June 5 at 5:30pm at the Sala Norsa, the primary press room at the Basilica. They have described the book as a fresh new look at otherwise well-worn material. I lived in Assisi for 15 months while writing it and did most of my research at the Sacro Convento at the Basilica di San Francesco. I am in Assisi now, for one month, to help get my book in the bookstores here. The friends and neighbors I came to know well when I lived here are happy to see me again and especially to see that the book is finished and published (Perseus Books, 2008). I hope you will check it out

Hi wendy, well done and congratulations on completing your book. I enjoyed your video, I am familiar with Franciscan affiliated organisations, I found Pope Bendicts recent enclycical "Charity in Truth" steering in the direction of the Franciscan ethos. spending 15 months in Assisi, powerful enlightenment I should imagine, I will keep this post reply brief as Im new to this user interface and  familiarise myself, will say hi again soon.  Thank you, Michaelp.s. A few weeks ago I was on a pilgrimage in Bosnia, I spent a night talking and praying with Franciscans, unbelieveable experience.  Ut Implerenteur Scripturae,Ciao

I will be buying your book. Michael, I would be very interested to hear more of your travels in Bosnia.

A very worthy subject, Murrwen. I have read both Sabatier's and Kuhns' works on the man and his life. I wish you every success.
