Harwich - Hoek van Holland Ferry

Anyone used the Harwich to Hook of Holland ferry service? I'm hoping to drive down to the holiday home later this year, and was thinking of using the service. [It cuts out getting around London and could save a nights stop on the way down] The distance fropm HofH to my place is almost exactly the same as driving from Calais/Dunkirk - so thats not a problem. What interests me is what other peoples impressions of the ferry service itself are

We did this a couple of years ago. The service is OK but getting off at Hoek van Holland was horrendous. You are straight onto a single lane road absolutely full of lorries. It took us 2 hours to get onto a motorway where we could put our foot down. It was very slow. Also,  there are no facilities at Harwich at night - not even a toilet. So the waiting was pretty grim. We wouldn't do it again to be honest. We've done Hull to Zeebrugge a few times when coming over from Yorkshire and that is great. Fast on and off. If I was coming over from the South East I would use Eurotunnel personally as it is so quick and easy and the Calaia ferries are so filthy and packed. Just my personal preference of course!
