I am sorry you faced a roadblock. I assume they naturalized before you were born correct? If they naturalized after your birth and after your age of 18 then you still have hope. I am currently pursuing my dual citizenship and am awaiting transciption as I need to petition the Court since I am proceeding through the female line where laws have recently changed. if you do not have an employment contract in Italy, the only way is to apply for elective residence. To get it, you have to prove that you have enough money to live in Italy without working.
