In Italy we've got a SKY TV package for which we pay approx €50 per month. If we go over at Christmas and then might not go back until June.Does anyone know of any arrangemnts whereby the SKY facility can effectively be switched off from say the end of the first week in Jan 14, and then restarted in June 14.  I know I might be being a bit 'careful' with the euros, but 5 months at €50 euros a month seems worth saving if it can be.Chris

Believe you can reduce your packge to the bare minimum allowable for periods of time.We do it every six months by cancelling our sports, news, and one other package for the following six months and then re-instate upon our return. You can do it on-line or by phone if you can ever get a live person.Fred

Thanks Fred. We have an agent who manages the house for us so i'll ask her to approach SKY.  If she can't do it I will. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a better way of getting TV in Italy.  We enjoy ordinary Italian terrestrial TV and Sky UK news.  We don't seem to have any time to watch sport, but do watch feature films.  Perhaps what I need to do is to subscribe for the period of the holiday ( i'd probably have to pay for a full calendar month and two months where the holiday straddles two calendar months) and then cancel, then re-instate on line each time, just before we go over there.
