We are retiring in two years from US and I

We are retiring in two years from US and I read an article to reach out about best to leave money in US bank account. I may have consulting income after I receive social security in two years. Do I have to pay taxes in Italy on income too? Or on social security? We were told we have to have private insurance? Do we have to return every 3 month to non-Euro country to reside in Italy, even if we have a house and property? Appreciate all the help with answers.
